Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. One of her first Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors both on screen and stage for the entirety of her professional career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
